Thoughts on MLB Japan All Star Games

Allow me to vent.

I am a little annoyed. MLB.com runs this big marketing about MLB Japan All Star Games and other “MLB.TV off-season package.” Of course, I am a sucker and sign up for it. But get this, it’s first exhibition game against Yomiuri Giants at 4:30 am. I COULD NOT for the life of me find a link to get “LIVE” coverage. Give me a break. If a paid customer was up to see the game at 4:30 AM Eastern Standard Time, wouldn’t you expect it to work? And now (finally) it is archived. BUT this is not all, the mlb.tv does NOT have any audio. Sure its kind of cool to see the baseball, but come on, Can you really expect me to sit there and watch 9 innings of baseball without any sound? Sure, I can separately listen to the (English) broadcast, but there is a LOOONG pause between the innings, a silent pause. Since its a streaming audio, I was unable to fast forward. So, for me, it is a box score game. It’s a shame. I know a lot of star player for Japandecided not to play, and no Red Sox nor Dragons players are on the roster, but I really wanted to see it. I thought I will find something that I can get excited about, except what I got was that I guess people don’t really care about Japanese baseball, or about who cares about Japanese baseball in USA. Thanks for nothing, MLB.
