My %@$&ing Mac Died

I’ve just run 2 of “secuirity” updates (I don’t remember what number…) and Java 1.4.2 (I believe) on my 450mhz G4 (Sawtooth?) a couple of hours ago. It asked me to restart it. I did. Then I was doing stuff, minding my own business, and the screen gets funky… pink/red horizontal lines show up, windows start to leave shadows, then the font got screwed up (window font became something generic like Chicago… all this happened in span of a minute or less) so I started to shutdown. Too late. Blue screen, with the curser spinning, basicly froze. So I held power button, shut it down. Waited for a-, I don’t know, a few minutes. Restarted. A command prompt appears. Strange, I login. When it seemed like I logged in, It flashed tons of error message (like whole screen full of it) and froze. Can’t do anything, so I held power button, again (Panic’ed, at this point). After a long pause, a folder with a question mark appears. Oh, crap. Restart, the same. Restart again, the same. Oh no. I put my OS X 1.3 install disk in the CD tray. It boots from the CD. But I don’t want to write over anything. So I picked language, go to next window. Continue or quit is the choice. I choose Quit. asked me to choose a start up drive. The HD doesn’t show up in the choices. I didn’t know what to do so I didn’t choose any and restared by reboot button (probably a big mistake). Nothing happens. USB optical mouse lights up for a second but that is about it. I hold down power button. I hear beep. Loud long (like a whole second) beep. then that was it. Now it doesn’t do anything at all. I put CD in. No go. I swap hard drive. No go. Oh crap what do I do. Similar to what those people are experienceing.

If anyone has any suggestion. Please help me. I am very frustrated.
