Japan-China relations

A friend forwarded me this url… Asian rivalry on display at soccer cup.
I also remembered reading a commentary piece in the Monitor called Japan, China Need to Chill Out which mentions prime minster visiting Yasukuni Shrine (which by the way is a bit out of proportion). It is a tough issue but something that both country (especially Japan) need to address at some point. I like some of the pacifism stance that Japanese take (because I am generally against the war), but ignorance is a different problem. I am no expert in foreign policy or not here to point finger at any country or leaders, but when during the soccer event, people wave banner that says “Look into history and apologize to the Asian people” 60 years after the war, something is wrong.
