Good music vs good marketing
OK So I think I am convinced that I want to buy a cd (or even both of them) by Jamie Cullum. I hear that song “All at sea” here and there on the radio and always sort-of-liked it. It’s the media hype that kept me away from him. That he is the next Harry Connick Jr. and Norah Jones stuff… it’s like music marketer’s dream come true… Too good to be true. But maybe he is pretty good and I’d not know till I buy the CDs… right? Isn’t that what the marketers want? And consumer like me is exactly who they are after… OK, so I am looking into joining one of those get free 12 cds club now… Two that I see is BMG and Columbia house. And BMG has Cullum and BMG doesn’t… Mmmmm. I think I might do it… Am I a sucker?
