Ham Fighters

Sunday, November 30th, 2003

This makes me laugh every time. “Nippon-Ham Fighters” is the name of baseball team in Japan, not Ham-Fighters. Anyway, Fighters are moving this off season to Hokkaido and with that, they did some radical logo redesign and with that, uniform and mascot redesign. It looks pretty cool. NY Times has a good story about it: […]

Dear Curt

Friday, November 28th, 2003

(An open letter to Curt Schilling) Please, please come to Boston. I will stay positive and will not boo my own team when they are losing or a left fielder doesn’t run to the first base. And will spend lots of money on tickets, merchandises and food and beer at the Fenway (even if it […]

A Quote

Wednesday, November 26th, 2003

“A good friend of mine used to say, ‘This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains.’ Think about that for a while.” — Ebby Calvin ‘Nuke’ LaLoosh

No Word Attachment, Please!

Tuesday, November 25th, 2003

As I sit here in the cubicle of Microsoft only (mostly, anyway) environment office, I read Free Software Foundation’s We Can Put an End to Word Attachments. I thought about forwarding it to “ALL EMPLOYEES” from my Outlook on our Exchange server, and…, no, that is not a good idea… (sigh)

Sunday, November 23rd, 2003

As a regular baseball news follower, I saw this former pitcher turned assistant GM, Bill Singer incident on th e news but didn’t mention anything there at my blog. But MLB.com had this article, Incident unfortunate, unacceptable by John Schlegel that explained who Kim Ng is much better than any coverages I’ve seen. And wow, […]

I saw Love Actually. Very light comedy about romance in different situations. Kinda nice, and kinda funny. Nice website, too. Definitely not Kill Bill.

The Lion King

Friday, November 21st, 2003

While there are bunch of talk about Kazuo Matsui of Seibu Lions, There is another asian ball player form the Lions. Well, its Seung Youp Lee of Samsong Lions. He broke Sadaharu Oh’s single season home run record and is called The Lion King.
We don’t know where he goes but I am sure he will […]

Wireless-less

Wednesday, November 19th, 2003

I think I am getting close but no cigar, as they say. I downloaded the driver for SMC 2635W card, which uses ADMtek chipset, and ifconfig and iwconfig showing that the card is recognized! I’m guessing my router setting is not quite there yet, maybe.
A page from House of Craig and LinuxQuestions.org was helpful.
In adition […]

Downloaded Fedra Core 1. I’m in process of upgrading my RH9 server.
Created new bulletin board (japanese only) using phpBB. Very well done open-source software. Awesome.
Saw Kill Bill. It was, mmmm, I haven’t decided if […]
