I am very unhappy with RCN’s cable modem internet access. The connection drops every so often, and since Friday, it drops the connection every two hour or so. I call the tech support and they would just have me unplug everything and plug it back in. I was on the phone with tech support already four times since Friday and finally someone (should be) coming today. We pay $97 a month(!) for cable and internet. Now, that is a lot of money (about $40 for the internet). I was so fed up, I called Comcast and it will cost almost as much (He said $95) but at least they don’t block port 80 and port 25. Meanwhile I checked out dslreports.com and called bunch of places. Cheapest is Verizon and $35 a month but I heard so much bad thing about Verizon DSL that I don’t think I want to do it. Speakeasy.net or Cyberonic (they are local, well, Worcester) sounds OK, but they are both $49.99 a month. Mmmm. Can’t do it. Very very frustrating. And it’s so hot today. I need an AC!!
