A Very sad and true

A Very sad and true report on Japanese Pro Baseball. I was in Japan two years ago in April, and was watching my beloved Chunichi Dragons take on Yomiuri Giants (the Evil Empire), a season opener in Tokyo Dome. watching the game for like two hours, game was tied, and it was top of 9th, with 1 out and two men on, Chunichi batter was at the plate. All the sudden, an announcer goes, “I am very sorry but looks like the broadcasting time is up now, we’ll see you tomorrow for the second game!!” and in the middle of inning, they change it to some random (stupid) variety TV show. I felt like I have wasted that two hours I was watching the game, We tried to find the radio station and couldn’t, I didn’t know the score till next day I read it in the paper. That was very frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, I love Japanese Baseball. Being the one who runs JapaneseBallPlayers.com and big Red Sox fan and all, I sometimes get comments like “a trader who switched from NPB to MLB”. Report is Matsui and Ichiro is nation’s favorite athlete, both play in US. It’s stuff like this that makes me think that there needs to be something done in Japanese baseball. If it was different, Maybe Kevin Millar would have came to Japan….
