Went to see Dave Brubeck and his quartet at Sanders Theater. Our seat was actually on the stage, which was kind of cool, really get to see the drummer’s brush work closely. Brubeck is at least 80, and all his band had white hair, but they really rocked (jazzed?) hard. I’d like to be a old man like that in 30-40 years. Among the songs they played: “Sunny side of the street” “I got rhythm” They even played “Take Five”. I can’t begin to imagine how many times he played that song in his life.
