Welcome…
...to Daigo’s Daily Digital Diorama. This is utterly useless online journal (yes, that was what it was originally called before term "blog") that I've been keeping since 2002. Since it is ".org," my wife once called it a nonprofit nonsense. I use this blog mostly about baseball, and being Japanese man in America. Wondering who the heck Daigo is?

Losing data…
My home server that I purchased 4 years ago, died. Died in flame, literally. It was basically simple smb/ssh/sftp server that I used to backup files onto, and was on all the time. One day it stop working, and I left it off for few days. Then when I had time, I plugged it in to see if it works, and the power caught fire. It was actually pretty scary. And it stunk up my room pretty bad like a chemical… I was hoping to at least rescue the hard drive, but it is completely dead. All the date are lost… Well, I have some files backed up on CD/DVD but that hard drive was where I kept my files… Oh well. Of course I lost all my mp3s from Napstar days… 60GB+ full of music. On a bright side, my friend helped me (actually, he basically did the whole thing for me… I thank you Tai-san…) get hardware and wired it in and even installed Ubuntu on it, (well, flavor of it, Mythbuntu). I am excited to learn about Ubuntu now. For my memo, here’s the spec of the “new” machine. I kept the same ANTEC tower.
