Late Congressman Robert Matsui‘s wife Doris Matsui won California’s District 5 seat Thursday. She became the “first Asian Pacific American woman outside of Hawai’i to serve in Congress” and “the only Asian Pacific American woman currently serving in the House of Representatives.” Not that becoming first is what’s important, but it is a good thing all around.
