Yellow dog Updater, Modified

yum, that is. “Yum is an automatic updater and package installer/remover for rpm systems.” says Linux @ Duke. Here is the link to commands, but I am listing tem below.

  • See a list of the available software: yum list available
  • To install software: yum install packagename
  • To see what updates are available: yum check-update
  • To update software you have installed: yum update
  • To remove software: yum remove packagename
